Collector Tools Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to the World Class Antiques Collector Tools mobile application (the “App”), including versions distributed through Google Play or the Apple App Store where available. The App is operated by SOTINET INC., doing business as World Class Antiques (“WCA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This policy covers the App only. A website, app store, map service, sharing destination, or other third-party service you open from the App may have its own privacy policy.

2. Information we handle

Information stored on your device

Depending on the features you use, the App may store settings, display preferences, pinned and recent tools, editable buy presets, draft feedback, and information you enter into the Trip Log. Trip Log information may include trip names and purposes, addresses, route coordinates and estimates, dates and times, odometer readings, stops, ratings, notes, expenses, purchases, vehicle details, and reporting periods.

Calculator entries and generated wording are generally processed on your device. Some screens keep their current working values while the App is open or save preferences so a future session can be prefilled.

Camera and photographs

The App requests camera access only when you choose a camera-based feature. Roman-numeral recognition is performed on the device. Photographs selected for documentation are processed on the device, and the original photograph is not changed. The App does not automatically upload camera images or selected photographs to WCA.

When you create and share a documented image, chart, report, QR code, or other export, the App may create a temporary copy in its private cache and provide the selected receiving app with access to that copy. The receiving app or person then handles the shared content under their own practices.

Feedback you submit

If you use Feedback & Tool Ideas, we receive the feedback type, title, message, and any reply email address you choose to provide. If you leave the app-information option enabled, we also receive the App version and Android version. The feedback submission does not include a device identifier. An unfinished feedback draft is stored locally on your device.

Route and map information

When you ask the Trip Log to calculate a route, the origin, destination, and intermediate stop addresses you entered are sent to Google Maps Platform so it can return route coordinates, distance, duration, and map information. The App does not request device location permission and does not track your live movement. Map requests may also include technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as the App package and authentication information.

Precious-metals price requests

When the App checks precious-metals prices, it contacts a WCA service to obtain and cache market data. Your Trip Log, calculator entries, photographs, and other working content are not included in that request. WCA’s service may obtain market data from GoldAPI.io.

Technical request information

When the App contacts WCA services, our web server and hosting providers may automatically receive standard request information such as the date and time, requested endpoint, Internet Protocol (IP) address, response status, and user-agent information. We use this information to deliver and secure the service, diagnose failures, and prevent abuse. We do not use it for behavioral advertising.

Backups and device transfer

Where enabled by your operating system and device settings, local App databases and preferences may be included in a platform cloud backup or device-to-device transfer. Those copies are controlled by your platform provider and account settings. The Trip Log also lets you deliberately create a portable JSON backup. You decide where that file is saved and who receives it.

3. How we use information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the features you request, including route calculation, maps, current and cached price data, exports, backups, and sharing;
• save your local preferences and records and restore them when supported by your device;
• receive, evaluate, and respond to feedback, feature requests, and problem reports;
• maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the App and its supporting services;
• comply with applicable law and protect our users, services, and legal rights.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use App information for cross-app tracking, targeted advertising, or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

4. Sharing and service providers

We disclose information only in the circumstances described below:

• Google Maps Platform: receives locations you enter and related technical request information when you request route or map features. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Hosting and technical providers: may process WCA service requests, server logs, feedback submissions, and precious-metals data on our behalf to operate, secure, and maintain those services.
• Operating-system and app-store providers: may process store, backup, device-transfer, diagnostic, or purchase information under your platform settings and their own policies. WCA does not receive your complete payment-card details from an app-store purchase.
• Recipients you choose: receive information when you export, save, email, or share a report, image, backup, calculation, or other content.
• Legal and business requirements: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable government requests; protect rights, safety, and security; investigate misuse; or complete a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We require service providers acting on our behalf to use information only for the services they provide and to protect it appropriately. WCA does not send your local Trip Log or calculator content to GoldAPI.io.

5. Retention and security

Local information remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App’s storage, or uninstall the App, subject to any copies retained in operating-system backups or files you exported. Temporary shared files may remain in the App’s private cache until they are replaced, cleared by the App or operating system, or removed with the App.

We retain submitted feedback, optional contact details, and associated service records only while reasonably needed to review or respond, improve and secure the App, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Standard server logs are retained according to operational, security, and hosting requirements. We may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it no longer reasonably identifies you.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS connections for App network requests. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect exported Trip Log backups and reports carefully because they may contain addresses, financial details, sourcing locations, or other sensitive business information.

6. Your choices and deletion

• You can use most App tools without creating an account or submitting personal information to WCA.
• You can deny or later revoke camera permission in your device settings. Manual and photo-picker alternatives remain available where offered.
• You can avoid sending locations to Google by not requesting route calculation or map features.
• You can omit a reply email and turn off App and Android version details before submitting feedback.
• You can erase the Trip Log from within the App. You can remove other local information by clearing the App’s storage or uninstalling it.
• You must separately delete exported files, recipient copies, and platform backups using the controls provided by the relevant device, account, or service.

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by WCA, or to withdraw consent where applicable. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where permitted or required by law. Because the App has no WCA account and most data remains only on your device, we may not possess the local records you want to recover or delete.

7. Children

The App is intended for antique collectors and dealers and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

8. International processing

WCA is based in Canada. WCA and its service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App, its services, or legal requirements change. We will update the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice in the App or through the applicable app store when a change is material. Your continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy where permitted by law.
