Christie’s Paris presents the Classic Week series, running from November 2nd to November 22nd this year. It comprises seven auctions, each showcasing a remarkable collection from the Rothschild family, spanning across French, English, and German heritage.
Kicking off the week on November 15th is the Old Master Paintings, Sculptures, and Drawings sale. This event will unveil a treasure trove of artworks that have remained hidden from the public eye for more than a century. Notable among these is Charles Antoine Coypel’s ‘Renaud abandonne Armide,’ sourced from the Rothschild Collection, and once displayed alongside Rembrandt’s ‘The Standard Bearer’ at the hôtel Massaran in Paris.
