About Frankoma Pottery

Frankoma Pottery is an American pottery company that was founded by John Frank in 1933. The company is known for producing distinctive ceramic pieces, including dinnerware, vases, and other decorative items. Frankoma Pottery is particularly recognized for its unique designs, use of Oklahoma clay, and rustic glazes.

John Frank was an extremely talented potter, producing high quality Native American and Western-inspired designs. Many of the pieces produced by his pottery feature earthy tones, textured surfaces, and geometric patterns. Some popular lines include the Plainsman, Wagon Wheel, and Mayan-Aztec series.

The pottery is also celebrated for its unique glazes, including the famous Frankoma Ada clay, which was developed by the company. The glazes often reflected the natural colors of the Oklahoma landscape.
