We have seen a similar item in the marketplace from time to time, but none that features the original label. Additionally, we couldn't find any details about the "Castlebleu in Canada." The presence of a custom label created specifically for this item suggests that a collection of kitchenware was produced for Castlebleu in Canada. In fact, if you search for this label, you may find one or two copper trays in the marketplace; however, there aren’t many items available, leading us to consider this one as scarce.
If you have any information about this location, we’d love to hear from you, as we’re eager to learn more about where this item originated. This vintage piece showcases a label from a location shrouded in mystery, adding to its allure, so we’ll let others take on the challenge of unraveling its story.
Approximate dimensions: 6.5 inches at its widest diameter, 4.5 inches tall (without the lid and the handle). 700 grams in weight.
About Coppercraft Guild
Coppercraft Guild was a company based in Taunton, Massachusetts, that produced copperware for the home, including decorative and functional items like trays, pitchers, candlesticks, and wall hangings. Founded in the mid-20th century, Coppercraft Guild operated as a direct sales company, where representatives would sell products through home parties, similar to Tupperware's business model. The items were often lacquered to prevent tarnishing, making them low-maintenance and popular in American homes in the 1960s and 1970s.
The company became well-known for its craftsmanship and the quality of its copper products, which are still collected today by vintage and mid-century enthusiasts. Coppercraft Guild's distinctive style often featured hammered or highly polished copper, and many pieces included intricate designs.
There is some discrepancy in the exact dates, as some sources mention that the company may have operated until as late as 1983. Regardless, Coppercraft Guild is no longer in operation.
