It consists of the six lectures, delivered in 1868, before the Society of Apothecaries of London. With appendices coloured plates and illustrations. Published in New York: D. Appleton And Co. Grand Street.

Large heavy octavo 8vo, 8 3/4 X 6 1/2 inches. 348 pages including index. Ex-Library copy from the Free Public Library of New Bedford, stamped Aug 31, 1869, with ink stamps and other markings in several places throughout. Modern cloth binding, very good condition with a small amount of soiling. Red Morocco label, endpapers renewed, a tight securely bound copy. Heavily illustrated including with double-page or folding color plates. Moderately age toned, and with exception of a few library stamps here and there pages are clean and bright. At the time we are writing this description, this is by far the best 1st edition on the market.
