A lovely ancient Chinese porcelain Qing Bai vase, dating to the Song Dynasty between AD. This delicate piece is a wonderfully decorative example of the popular Qing Bai porcelain. With a beautiful, slender form, tall cylindrical neck and flaring rim. The body decorated with a series of sinuous dragons, Daoist immortals, horses and pearls, all under a crisp pale blue glaze. Qing Bai was one of the most popular ceramic wares of the Song Dynasty. Produced at Jingdezhen, it can be viewed as a direct precursor to China's iconic blue and white porcelain. A beautiful piece from a formative period in Chinese ceramic production.
