Offered for sale is a rare antique spring lancet used for bloodletting. It was made in the 19th century and most likely belong to a doctor. We assume that he had the box made to custom fit the instrument.

The lancet is in excellent condition with a great patina. The spring is very strong and works perfectly. The fitted box has seen a repair at the joint. It also comes with a later photograph glued to the top of the box - we assume this was on display somewhere. To note that the National Museum of American History has a similar example, but it doesn't seem to be in the same good quality as our listing, and it's without its box.
