Vintage pressed steel toy trucks evoke pure nostalgia for many collectors. They serve as a reminder of a simpler period in American history, when children's playtime was filled with toys that stimulated their imagination and fostered creativity.

Offered for sale today is a 1930s Marx Pressed Steel Red Dump Truck Sand and Gravel. It is a fairly large truck at 15" length. It is in what we call played condition. While the colors are still bright red, and the Sand and Gravel lithography looks great, there are paint losses, especially on the front of the cabin. The dump body steel shows a few bends as well as the front axle.

This toy truck was produced by the Louis Marx and Company during the 1930s in New York, USA - you can see their logo on the truck in the last photograph. They were a prominent American toy manufacturer that operated from the early 20th century until the 1970s. Louis Marx and Company gained widespread popularity and became a household name, producing a wide range of toys that appealed to children of various ages.

The company was founded by Louis Marx and his brother David in 1919 in New York City. Initially, Louis Marx and Company focused on producing tinplate wind-up toys, but they quickly expanded their product line to include other materials such as plastic and pressed steel. They produced toys in various categories, including playsets, action figures, vehicles, dolls, and more.
