Description

Indulge in sensory awakening with this outstanding decorative Japanese mother-of-pearl laddle!

Made in Japan, probably late 19th century or early 20th century, the artist's attention to detail and mastery of form elevate this piece to art-gallery caliber, making it a captivating addition to any collection. The laddle bowl is made of mother of pearl (MOP) and has a handle sculpted out of horn. The handle exhibits exquisite inlays made of mother of pearl. The overall laddle is of a large size at 14.4 inches. In great condition.

While we've come across similar spoons online in the past, none have matched the level of quality, craftsmanship, and ingenious utilization of natural materials as this one.

Collectors who appreciate mother of pearl items value the exquisite beauty, and historical significance of these decorative objects. The enchanting iridescence and distinct hues of mother of pearl render these pieces exceptionally sought-after among connoisseurs who admire their elegance and artistic allure.

Mother of pearl, scientifically referred to as nacre, constitutes the shimmering inner layer found in specific mollusk shells, including pearl oysters and abalone. Renowned for its radiant iridescence, this organic material has been utilized for countless centuries in crafting a myriad of decorative objects and trinkets, owing to its resplendent allure.
