Description

Offered for sale today is an antique cast iron coin still bank designed as a caricatured boy's bust, featuring the boy donning a red shirt with a white collar and a blue bow tie.

Marked "The Young Nigger Bank" on reverse. Great condition with few paint losses. Stands 4.5 inches tall.

A bank resembling this one can be found within the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, as part of the generous gift from the Collection of James M. Caselli and Jonathan Mark Scharer.
