Description

Presented for purchase today are three vintage Salt & Pepper & Flour Shakers crafted from uranium custard glass. These items are not only highly sought-after for collectors but also bring immense enjoyment. The glass pattern is called Roman Arch - very art deco. The set comes with a complimentary UV 395nm flashlight, allowing you to immediately appreciate its vibrant and captivating glow.

Approximate Dimensions: Thick and heavy glass, each one of them. A bit taller than 4 inches and 2.5 inches thick. All three are 750 grams in weight, while empty.

Condition: Excellent and all functional. The Flour has a small chip on one of the sides under the Flower writing. And the Salt has a small flee bite on the bottom. The lids are original and a bit rough, to be expected considering they are almost 100 years old.

About the Historic McKee Glass Company

The McKee Glass Company traces its roots back to the mid-19th century. It began as McKee and Brothers in 1853 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before eventually moving to Jeannette, Pennsylvania. The company underwent various name changes and reorganizations over the years. The company went through various phases of production, adapting to the changing tastes and demands of consumers over the years. They were particularly recognized for their opaque glassware, such as Jadite and custard glass (same glass as this listing), as well as their colored glass patterns. One of McKee's well-known products is the "Rock Crystal" pattern, a Depression-era glassware design featuring intricate geometric patterns. The company also produced other popular patterns like "Roman Arch" (same pattern as this listing) and "Laurel."
