Description

Offered for sale today is a Weller Pottery piece featuring the Wild Dogwood Flower design—a charming ewer or pitcher crafted in the mid to late 1930s in the USA. The bottom bears full markings, showcasing its authenticity and heritage.

Weller Pottery holds a significant place in the history of American ceramic art. Founded by Samuel A. Weller in Fultonham, Ohio, in 1872, the company produced utilitarian pottery such as flowerpots, crocks, and jugs. Later in its production, it gained widespread recognition for its art pottery in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company remained in operation until 1948.

Approximate Dimensions:

  • 6.5 inches tall.
  • 5.5 inches at its widest shape.

Condition:

  • Excellent condition, with a tiny chip on the lip - barely visible with the naked eye.
  • Glaze has crazing due to its age.
