Condition: Excellent, with no cracks or chips. The gold gilding is removed in very small areas, most likely from handling.

About The Newport Glass Company

The Newport Glass Company was one of the prominent manufacturers of glassware during the late 19th century, operating primarily from 1878 to 1895 in Newport, Ohio. Like many glass companies of its time, Newport specialized in producing Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG), which was mass-produced glassware known for its intricate designs and affordability.

Newport Glass Company produced a wide range of glassware, including tableware, serving pieces, and decorative items. Their patterns often featured elaborate designs such as geometric motifs, floral patterns, and scrollwork. Some of their popular patterns include "Newport Loop," "Newport Diamond Point," and "Newport Glass Block."

The EAPG produced by Newport Glass Company was highly sought after during its time and continues to be prized by collectors today for its historical significance and craftsmanship. While the company ceased operations in 1895, its legacy lives on through the surviving examples of its glassware.
