Description

This Young's Improved Rectal Dilators set includes 4 several cone-shaped dilators of varying sizes that are designed to be inserted into the rectum. It is in great condition, we could say that it has never been used. It comes in its original box. Both the dilators and their box are in excellent condition.

Dr. Young's Rectal Dilators are a set of medical instruments used to dilate or stretch the anus and rectum. They were invented by Dr. J.W. Young in the late 19th century and were originally used as a treatment for constipation and other gastrointestinal disorders. The dilators were typically made of rubber (earliest ones), bakelite, or aluminum (later ones) and may be smooth or have ridges or other textures to aid in dilation.

Dr. Young's Rectal Dilators were not quack products when they were first introduced. At the time, they were a legitimate medical device, used to treat a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, including constipation, hemorrhoids, and anal fissures.

However, it's important to note that medical knowledge and practices have evolved significantly since the late 19th century when Dr. Young's Rectal Dilators were first introduced. Today, there are more effective and less invasive treatments available for most gastrointestinal conditions, and the use of rectal dilators is generally considered outdated and unnecessary.
